As an organisation that processes a lot of customer data, we are keenly aware of our responsibility in this area, and are extremely diligent in how we handle this information. We are therefore very pleased to announce that as of July 9th 2019, Blue Billywig is ISO27001 certified. The certificate was granted after a highly detailed and stringent audit proces.

Information security has always been important but with the growth of online and the introduction of the GDPR even more so. More and more organisations deal with valuable data and information. Both data from clients as well as data relating to employees. It’s not only our concern that this information is safe: customers are also demanding full information security. The ISO certification proves that we are adhering to those standards.

I already knew that our information security is well implemented. Our customers have already audited us on this regularly, but with the introduction of GDPR we became even more aware of the importance of information security. That is why we have written down and structured the policies we’ve been using for years. The ISO certification is the reward for that effort and confirmation that we have our information security in order.

What ISO27001 entails

In order to comply with the ISO certification, an organisation must adhere to three pillars:

  1. Availability: Information must be available and accessible at all times. Thankfully, the Online Video Platform hardly has any downtime.
  2. Integrity: Information must be correct, reliable and complete. So, no false, hidden or incorrect information.
  3. Confidentiality: Information should only be available to those who are entitled to it, without the risk of it falling into the wrong hands.
